| About Concurrent Design |
| |
Concurrent Design is a complete engineering design and build resource available on a consulting basis. We provide support for any part of the product design process or the design of the manufacturing tools and systems that make those products. With core strengths in Mechanical Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering, we can apply a broad knowledge of engineering design in Industrial, Commercial and Consumer product sectors. We have successfully applied these common core strengths in numerous industries including (alphabetically); Clean Energy, Computers / Networking / Electronics, Consumer Products, Medical / Biomedical, Nanotechnology, and Semiconductor sectors. |
| |
We are available to assist with occasional peak workload or for long term partnering. We offer all or any portion of the engineering design and build function including industrial design (ID), conceptual development, engineering analysis, detailed design, drafting and documentation, project management, vendor sourcing, procurement services, assembly, test, debug and volume manufacturing scale-up. |

BSME - New Jersey Institute of Technology, 1981
Tom began his career as an Instrument Engineer for Foster Wheeler Energy Corp. Then followed a succession of contract engineering positions with IBM in Manassas, VA (Semiconductor Plant Layout), IBM in Dayton, NJ (Factory Automation - Robotic Workcell Design), Bell Aerospace in Niagara Falls, NY (High Tolerance Instrument Design), IBM in Fishkill, NY (Automated Test Equipment - Robotic Workcell Design), IBM in Austin, TX (Factory Automation - Robotic Systems Design). Subsequent contracts with IBM - Austin and many others allowed Tom to further develop engineering design and build skills in manufacturing automation, machine design, tool design, product design and test equipment design. In May of 1994, Tom and Tony Ornelas founded Concurrent Design. The intervening years have seen in excess of 1400 product development and manufacturing system projects for many industries and clients as detailed throughout this brochure. |
